If it was located anywhere else in the city, it would be a 4-star, at best. Vienna City Centre Vienna |0.15km from city center Great location, across the Stephansdom, but the hotel needs much more to be called a 5-star hotel.
The upside - we got up and out for breakfast early! A fabulous hotel in a wonderful city…. My only area of improvement… there was a lovely coffee machine in the room but no kettle… hot water for tea in the morning had to be called down for which always seemed a lot of trouble. The breakfast was lovely, and the coffee and cakes in the patisserie divine. We had an inside room overlooking a ‘courtyard’… not the prettiest but it was very very quiet which for a city centre location was unusual.

The welcome after a delayed flight was warm and accommodating… the personal handwritten note from the manager was a nice touch as were the truffles in the bedroom and the free minibar! The location is perfect, opposite the opera house and stop 1 on the tourist bus, positioned well for access to some amazing museums, heritage sites, gardens and the main shopping area if that is your thing. The rooms are a good size and well appointed. What an amazing little find! This hotel provides everything you could want for an amazing long weekend in this beautiful city. Overall, the hotel offers a pleasant experience, but it falls short of being exceptional. While everything is decent, it lacks that ”wow” factor.
The spa on the top floor is equipped with an open terrace, a small pool, and a fitness center that operates 24 hours a day. However, the hotel also boasts a Michelin two-star restaurant, which adds to its culinary offerings. It's a fantastic spot for breakfast, although the overall food quality is average. The hotel features two restaurants, one of which boasts a delightful open terrace and a beautifully decorated glass pavilion. Nonetheless, the staff was highly attentive and friendly, doing everything in their power to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We stayed in a room overlooking the garden, but unfortunately, the garden itself turned out to be quite small. It would be nice to add a touch of modernity to the decor. The rooms are incredibly spacious and clean, although the furniture feels a bit outdated. The hotel combines stunning palace architecture with a modern glass extension in a truly remarkable way. Couldn’t be more pleased with our stay and we can’t wait to return. Housekeeping was attentive, quiet, and left the suite sparkling every day and night.

The fridge was stocked with waters and beverages, and snacks, which was so thoughtful and appreciated after two full days of travel from the West Coast of the USA to Europe. Our suite was sumptuous and well-appointed, with gorgeous high ceilings, large windows, and an array of specialty items to make us feel at home and welcome. Breakfasts in the conservatory were scrumptious and the Winter Garden Conservatory was a bright an airy venture for our delicious meals. Tamara, Asheesh, Philip, “Maverick”, Krisztina, & others at the front desk went above and beyond with incredibly attentive, informative, and kind service. The staff was wonderfully warm and helpful. The pool and fitness center were delightful, bright, and sparkling clean. Our trip to stay at the Palais Coburg in Vienna was 5 days long and it was not long enough! I was delighted by the Palais Coburg and all of its luxurious amenities.
